THE HISTORY OF WAITMAN HELICOPTERS, INC.

Waitman Helicopters, Inc. grew out of the love of helicopters and the possibility of turning that dream into reality. Joe Waitman began his interest in Rotorway helicopters in 1972 with his purchase of a Scorpion Too helicopter kit. In 1975, he earned his private airplane rating and in 1979, he became a commercially rated helicopter pilot.

Waitman Helicopters was incorporated in Nevada in 1981. Besides the interest in Rotorway helicopters, Waitman Helicopters worked on a supplemental type certificate for the Hughes 269 Series helicopters.

In 1989, the company began the current path to provide Rotorway owners options not available from Rotorway Aircraft. Due to customer demands for additional services, Waitman Helicopters has grown to include service to all Rotorway helicopter owners, whether an older Scorpion or Exec or the newer helicopters from Rotorway International.
