Congratulations on your purchase of a RotorWay helicopter kit.

It is our policy to provide technical assistance to legal owners of our component kits to help you be successful in operating the completed project.

Please note that to this point we have referred to your helicopter as a "project", "kit", or "components". This is because RotorWay does not sell a commercially certified helicopter. Rather, we sell kits and the owner is responsible for construction and licensing in the amateur-built, experimental category. The builder is in fact considered to be the manufacturer of the completed helicopter.

If you have purchased a used helicopter, either in a disassembled or completed state, you should be aware that this group of components was sold without any warranty whatsoever to the original owner and RotorWay does not and will not assume any liability or warranty the product, with regards to safety or fitness for flight. The responsibility to determine if your helicopter is suitable for flight operation rests solely with you, the owner. As pilot in command of a flying aircraft, it will be your decision alone as to whether flight operations can be conducted in a safe and normal manner.

NEVER ASSUME A FLYING ROTORWAY HELICOPTER IS AIRWORTHY AND SAFE FOR FLIGHT UNTIL IT HAS BEEN THOROUGHLY CHECKED BY YOU! Even if the helicopter was constructed by a qualified mechanic, it does not guarantee the flying integrity of the ship.

Schedule the proper training. Even if you have prior helicopter experience, all aircraft have particular flight characteristics that must be shown to you.

Contact your local FAA inspector so that you may be in full compliance with FAA regulations.
